Retour à la case prison pour le vieux trafiquant de drogue. En effet, Mamadou Diop âgé de 74 ans, a été déclaré coupable de cession et d’offre de l’herbe qui tue, délit pour lequel il a comparu hier mardi devant le tribunal de grande instance de Diourbel.
Mari de deux épouses et père de quatre enfants, il avait été arrêté dans la périphérie de Touba avec par devers lui 700 grammes de yamba. Une quantité, selon sa version des faits, destinée à sa propre consommation parce qu’il devait vaquer à des occupations professionnelles loin de chez lui pour plusieurs semaines.
Des arguments jugés trop peu fallacieux pour le procureur Moussa Gueye selon qui Mamadou Diop tentait seulement de tromper la religion du tribunal. Après avoir sollicité la clémence du tribunal, le vieux Mamadou Diop a pris deux ans pour trafic de chanvre indien. Par ailleurs, le tribunal a ordonné la destruction du yamba saisi.
