Même la Sonatel n’a pas été épargnée, avec une perte de dizaines de millions. le modus operandi des alpagués concernait les appels entrants, avec système Sim Box. Les appels venant de l’étranger apparaissent et sont facturés comme s’ils étaient émis à partir du Sénégal. D’où le manque à gagner de plusieurs millions pour la Sonatel qui a mis un dispositif qui lui permet de détecter cette forme de fraude.
Les deux Mbacké –mbacké ont été retrouvés à Cambéréne, dans une maison délabrée et ils ont, à travers un réseau de transfert d’argent, reçu près de 4 millions de F CFA, en plusieurs envois, de leurs complices en Jordanie pour l’achat des Sim, les équipements et la location de la villa.
Ce n’est pas un fait nouveau car une trentaine de sites abritant des Sim Box ont été démantelées et une quarantaine de personnes arrêtées. Du commissariat des Parcelles Assainies, ils ont été déférés pour escroquerie, fraude sur les appels entrants et complicité.
