Issu d’une famille originaire du Fouta, au nord du Sénégal, mais né le 11 décembre 1961 à Fatick, une terre d’hospitalité, au cœur du pays Sérère, Macky Sall, président de la République du Sénégal depuis 2012, met en exergue dans son livre son engagement pour le Sénégal, sa conviction républicaine…
« Le Sénégal au Cœur » revient, entre autres, sur son enfance à Fatick, son entrée en politique, ses premières armes. Des premiers chapitres qui font davantage connaissance avec son père Amadou Abdoul Boubou Sall et sa mère Coumba Amadou Diawly Hassan Thimbo, son sacerdoce…
Mais le président Sall, qui écrit aussi pour un public qui va au-delà du Sénégal, n’a passé sous silence les « propos nauséabonds » (Macky Sall est un descendant d’esclaves, ses parents étaient anthropophages) tenus par son prédécesseur, Me Abdoulaye Wade, à son encontre, suite à l’emprisonnement de Karim Wade.
Et, un autre chapitre, « Moi Niangal Sall » , des passages croustillants à lire pour mieux cerner la personnalité de l’homme. Lequel homme n’a pas manqué de souligner, à la page 157, ceci:
« Le Sévère » ! C’est un surnom que j’ai peut être mérité. Comme certains ont pu s’en rendre compte, je ne suis pas particulièrement souple. Mais je suis beaucoup moins rigide que mon image pourrait le laisser croire… »
Au-delà des chapitres consacrés à l’Etat, les libertés, Yonnuyokkuté etc., le livre s’ouvre sur les Etats-Unis et sur cet Islam des lumières…
« Le Sénégal au Cœur » , un livre de 172 pages, disponible, à partir du 1er janvier 2019, édité par Cherche midi, Paris, est composé de 21 chapitres. Où l’on surfe sur des pages aérées et faciles à lire.
