Il ressort des faits de l’enquête préliminaire que le défunt qui, d’usage, ne s’éloignait pas du domicile de ses parents, s’était inhabituellement absentée de la maison familiale. L’inquiétude a vite gagné ses parents. Lesquels, désemparés, ont entrepris les recherches. Des annonces ont été faites pour faire part de sa disparition. Des recherches actives ont été menées en vue de le retrouver sans résultat. Cinq jours plus tard, la triste nouvelle, telle une trainée de poudre, a fait le tour du quartier.
La découverte macabre a été faite, le 22 septembre 2020, aux environs de 14h. Sur ces entrefaites, les éléments du commissariat central de Guédiawaye ont été informés de la découverte d’un corps sans vie dans le lac de plateforme de Mbeubeuss. L’identification a permis de savoir qu’il s’agit d’un individu de sexe masculin, habillé d’un tee-shirt blanc et d’un pantalon noir, couché sur le ventre, le corps flottant dans l’eau. La victime est identifiée au nom de Pa Abdou Diouf et domicilié à la zone de recasement de Keur Massar.
Sur instruction du procureur de Pikine et après avis du médecin du district sanitaire de Keur Massar présent sur les lieux, le corps sans vie a été inhumé sur place en raison de putréfaction avancée avec l’assistance des sapeurs-pompiers. Une enquête est ouverte pour définir les causes du décès.
