Cette saisie opérée par la brigade mobile des douanes de Nioro a eu lieu peu avant 16 heures dans le cadre d’une opération de ratissage menée dans la zone.
La drogue conditionnée dans 4 colis de 50 kilogrammes chacun sous forme de sac au dos avait été enfouie sous des herbes sèches afin de déjouer la vigilance des agents des douanes, précise le Bureau des relations publiques et de la communication des douanes dans un communiqué.
La brigade des douanes de Nioro du Rip a récemment saisi 98 kilogrammes de chanvre indien et un nombre important de sacs de sucre dissimulés dans un chargement de bouteille de gaz butane, a rappelé le service de communication des douanes.
‘’Avec la fermeture des frontières et l’arrêt du transport transfrontalier liés à la Covid-19, les trafiquants semblent se rabattre de plus en plus sur ces pratiques anciennes mais moins fréquentes notamment la méthode dite « Porteur »’’, fait-on savoir.
Ils sont notamment présentés comme des individus qui conditionnent la marchandise prohibée sous forme de colis et de sacs à dos pour l’introduire sur le territoire douanier à pied par des pistes et chemins jalonnant les frontières.
