« Nous avons des raisons valables de penser que des violences sexuelles liées au conflit, ont été commises lors des attaques du 7 octobre dans au moins trois endroits, à savoir le site du festival de musique Nova , la route 232 et le kibboutz Reim. Dans la plupart de ces incidents, les victimes ont d’abord été violées puis tuées, et au moins deux incidents concernaient le viol de cadavres de femmes, »a-t-elle déclaré.
La mission composée de Mme Patten et neuf experts a mené une trentaine de réunions avec des représentants israéliens et des témoins des attaques du 7 octobre.
Pramila Patten a également reçu des rapports faisant état de traitements cruels, inhumains et dégradants infligés à des Palestiniens en Cisjordanie occupée.
Elle a réitéré sa profonde sympathie et sa solidarité avec tous les civils touchés par les « violences brutales dans la région » depuis le 7 octobre, et a fait écho à l’appel du Secrétaire général en faveur d’un cessez-le-feu humanitaire.
