Au moins douze personnes ont trouvé la mort ce mercredi dans des attaques menées quasi-simultanément contre le Parlement et le mausolée de l’imam Khomeiny à Téhéran. Ces attentats, sans précédent dans la capitale, ont été revendiqués par le groupe État islamique.
Le groupe État islamique (EI) a revendiqué mercredi 7 juin ses premiers attentats à Téhéran, où des hommes armés et des kamikazes ont attaqué le Parlement iranien et le mausolée de l’imam Khomeiny. « Des combattants de l’EI attaquent la tombe de Khomeiny et le Parlement au centre de Téhéran », a confirmé dans la matinée Amaq, l’agence de propagande du groupe terroriste, alors que l’attaque était encore en cours. Pour l’heure, selon un bilan annoncé à la mi-journée par l’agence de presse d’État l’Insa , on recense au total douze personnes tuées et une quarantaine blessées.
Vers 10h15, heure locale, plusieurs hommes armés se sont introduits dans le Parlement et ont ouvert le feu. Les forces de l’ordre ont ensuite donné l’assaut contre les assaillants, dont certains s’étaient retranchés dans les étages supérieurs du bâtiment, comme l’attestent plusieurs photos publiées par les agences de presse iraniennes et relayées sur les réseaux sociaux. Les députés ont néanmoins continué leur session dirigée par le président du Parlement Ali Larijani qui a dénoncé « des terroristes lâches ».
