Un violent incendie s’est déclaré dans la nuit de samedi au dimanche au marché central de kaolack (centre), informent les sapeurs-pompiers.
« On nous a alerté à 23 h 20 pour un incendie au niveau du marché central de Kaolack. C’était un violent feu de cantine, avec une propagation vers l’ouest du marché central. Il a souligné que l’origine du sinistre reste inconnue et a demandé l’installation d’une bouche d’incendie au niveau du marché central de kaolack, au risque de voir d’autres incendies causés encore plus de dégâts.
Selon lui, les principales difficultés rencontrées dans le cadre de l’extinction du feu étaient l’inaccessibilité du marché, déplorant le non-respect des « normes de construction ».
« La commune de kaolack ne dispose pas de bouche d’incendie’’, a encore déploré le capitaine Ndione.
« Les engins sont obligés d’aller se ravitailler au niveau de la SONACOS Lyndiane, à plus de 10 kilomètres. On a été obligé d’appeler en renfort d’autres unités en l’occurrence Gossas, Kaffrine, Nioro et Fatick et avoir six engins pour venir à bout des flammes » a-t-il expliqué.
