Un incendie d’une rare violence s’y est déclaré ce lundi et a quasiment tout emporté sur son passage. Les pertes inestimables.
Le feu s’est déclaré alors que les hommes et les jeunes étaient au marché hebdomadaire de Touba-Ndiaréme. Un enfant nommé Élimane Ngom, 5 ans, est mort atrocement calciné.
Et comme si cela ne suffisait pas au calvaire cauchemardesque des populations riveraines, des animaux (moutons, chèvres, chevaux, ânes et de la volaille) ont été réduits en cendres. Les éléments de la 22e compagnie des sapeurs-pompiers n’ont pu que constater les dégâts énormes. Pour l’heure, les causes exactes du drame restent inconnues.
Il faut rappeler que c’est le troisième incendie meurtrier dans la commune de Diourbel. Ce drame survient, en effet, après ceux du marché Ndoumbé Diop dans la nuit du 14 au 15 juillet 2017, avec la mort par électrocution d’un soldat du feu, et de Ngolomite (dans la périphérie de la commune de Diourbel) avec la mort par asphyxie d’un enfant de huit ans.
