Au troisième trimestre, le nombre de demandeurs d’emploi en France métropolitaine a de nouveau légèrement augmenté de 0,4%. Quelque 21 700 nouvelles personnes recherchent un emploi ces trois derniers mois. Sur l’année, le nombre de chômeurs a augmenté de 0,6%. Pour le troisième trimestre, Pôle emploi comptabilise en France, départements d’outre-mer compris, 5,9635 millions de chômeurs.
Si on ne considère que la catégorie A, à savoir les personnes sans emploi et tenues d’en chercher un, leur nombre a augmenté de 0,4% sur les trois derniers mois, mais il recule de 1% sur un an.
La situation est toujours difficile pour les personnes ayant une activité réduite ; leur nombre augmente de 2,1% ce trimestre, et de 2,7% sur l’année.
En France métropolitaine, les femmes sont plus touchés que les hommes et ce sont les seniors de plus de 50 ans qui connaissent la plus forte hausse, avec 0,7% au dernier trimestre, soit une augmentation sur l’année de 3,1%.
Quant aux chômeurs de longue durée, leur nombre est en hausse de 6,4% sur un an.
Cette tendance s’explique par le ralentissement de la croissance au cours des deux derniers trimestre.
Malgré ce résultat mitigé, la ministre du Travail Muriel Pénicaud maintient « l’ambition d’arriver à un taux de 7% » d’ici la fin du quinquennat.
Ces derniers chiffres du chômage seront examinés avec attention par les partenaires sociaux, qui à la demande du gouvernement vont prochainement ouvrir de nouvelles négociations autour de la réforme de l’assurance chômage.
