Adama Barrow s’était engagé à tout mettre en œuvre en vue de la construction d’un pont de Farafégny pour faciliter la traversée de la Gambie . Le projet, plusieurs fois annoncé sous Jammeh, n’a jusqu’ici pas vu le jour.
C’est donc un ouf de soulagement du côté des voyageurs qui se rendent dans la partie sud du pays. Prévues sur une durée de 30 mois, les travaux de construction du pont vont démarrer ce mercredi, rapporte le quotidien L’As. Qui indique toutefois que la fermeture du pont pour les besoins de la construction va affecter le trafic et occasionner un grand détour via Tambacounda, la voie de contournement de la Gambie, ce qui risque de prendre beaucoup de temps aux automobilistes.Toutefois, avec le contournement, les voyageurs redoutent une hausse déraisonnée des prix du transport.
Le pont, une fois réalisé, permettra de faire l’aller-retour entre Dakar et Ziguinchor en 24 heures, se réjouissent des voyageurs.
