Pour son premier match sur le banc de Teungueth FC (10e, 12 points), opposé à l’AS Douanes (8e, 14 pts), Lamine Dieng est rentré du stade Demba Diop avec le point du nul (1-1) dans le cadre de la onzième journée de Ligue pro sénégalaise.
Dans un entretien accordé à nos confrères d’Enquêteplus, le coach rufisquois est revenu sur la difficulté de prendre une équipe en cours de saison et son objectif de finir le championnat en haut du classement.
Arrivé en cours de route au Tfc, Lamine Dieng concède qu’il n’est pas facile de tirer son épingle du jeu: « quelque part, c’est très difficile de prendre en cours de championnat (une équipe). On n’a pas recruté des joueurs. Heureusement qu’on a eu la trêve qui est venue à point nommé qui nous permet de (nous) renforcer, dont l’avant-centre (Adeleye Gbenga) qui a commencé aujourd’hui (dimanche). C’est une recrue nigériane. Ensuite, on a commencé à mettre en place ce que pensons être le football, c’est-à-dire de le rendre attractif et efficace ».
Concernant ses ambitions, l’ancien entraîneur de Niary Tally pense avoir les moyens pour viser le haut du classement. « La première équipe a 21 points, c’est GF (Génération Foot, ndlr), je crois (Si la Ligue valide sa victoire sur Ndiambour). Et GF a été à la rue, l’année dernière, par rapport à TFC. Quelque part, je dis que c’est anormal. On essaie de travailler par rapport à ça. On fait nos gammes. J’espère qu’on va sortir de ce mauvais pas et viser les places honorables », a-t-il déclaré.
