CAF : l’instance fête ses 60 ans !

La Confédération Africaine de Football fête 60 ans de son existence. L’instance responsable du football africain a été crée le 8 février 1957 à Khartoum au Soudan.

Les quatre membres fondateurs étaient l’Afrique du Sud, l’Egypte, l’Ethiopie et le Soudan. Depuis, 50 autres pays ont rejoint la CAF, la dernière fût le Soudan Sud, le 10 février 2012, pour en devenir le 54e membre.

Les célébrations auront lieu à Addis-Abeba en marge de la 39e Assemblée Générale ordinaire de la CAF. Un documentaire retraçant les 60 ans de la CAF sera diffusé et une conférence sera tenue sous le thème « Football et politique en Afrique : interactions, convergences, ruptures. 60 ans d’un mariage de passion et de raison. De la construction de l’idéal panafricaniste à l’impératif de professionnalisation et de modernisation du football Africain. Perspectives d’avenir de la CAF ».
