Cette pièce sera interprétée par des comédiens de Sorano et de l’Association des comédiens du théâtre sénégalais (ARCOTS), dans une mise en scène de Jean-Pierre Leurs, précise le communiqué.
Elle met en scène un « conflit tragique » entre le Damel Macodou Fall et son fils Samba Laobé Fall, dont l’enjeu porte sur la régence du royaume du Saloum.
« Le Damel Macodou veut reprendre le trône après l’avoir délibérément cédé à son fils Samba Laobé Fall. Ce dernier refuse. S’en suit un tragique affrontement sans vainqueur, ni vaincu », explique le communiqué.
« Ce combat sanglant est une véritable tragédie qui pose la problématique du pouvoir. Ce grand spectacle de théâtre restitue la trajectoire des figures historiques et met en valeur l’éthique et les vertus ancestrales du patrimoine culturel du Sénégal et de l’Afrique », précise-t-il.
