A plusieurs reprises cette année, le début du rapatriement des Rohingyas a été annoncé, avant d’être reporté, la Birmanie et le Bangladesh s’accusant mutuellement d’être responsable de ce retard.
Mais cette fois, le ministère des Affaires étrangères birman l’assure, un « plan très concret » a été approuvé pour commencer le processus de rapatriement, sans donner cependant de précisions sur les conditions de ce retour ou sur le nombre de Rohingyas concernés.
Il y a deux semaines, le Bangladesh, qui ne souhaite pas voir les réfugiés rester sur son sol, déclarait qu’une liste de 8 000 noms avait été validée.
Un « génocide toujours en cours »
Mais sans garanties de sécurité, de justice ou encore d’accès à la citoyenneté en Birmanie, les Rohingyas réfugiés dans les camps ont répété qu’ils ne voulaient pas rentrer. Des conditions essentielles qui ne sont pas encore réunies, selon l’ONU : « Il est crucial que les retours ne soient pas précipités ni prématurés » a réagi mardi soir le Haut-Commissariat des Nations unies pour les réfugiés, cité par l’agence Reuters.
