Déjà absent à Monaco lors de la remise du trophée du meilleur jouer remis par l’UEFA, le Portugais, pourtant parmi les trois finalistes, devrait également faire l’impasse sur le gala de la Fifa.
A en croire Sky Italia, le quintuple Ballon d’Or serait convaincu de la victoire de Luka Modric et ne souhaiterait pas faire le déplacement jusqu’à Londres. Et tant pis s’il pourrait par ailleurs remporter le prix Puskas du plus beau but pour son magnifique ciseau face à la Juventus en quarts de finale de la précédente Ligue des champions.
Un souci personnel pour Messi…
Une absence qui s’ajouterait à celle de Lionel Messi. Une fois n’est pas coutume, l’Argentin n’est même pas parmi les trois finalistes pour le trophée The Best. Mais si certains assuraient qu’il serait bien présent, à Londres, pour assister au possible triomphe de Luka Modric, un souci d’ordre personnel l’obligerait finalement à rester en Catalogne et à zapper, lui aussi, la cérémonie.
A noter que Cristiano Ronaldo a remporté les deux premières éditions du trophée The Best (2016, 2017), devançant à chaque fois… Lionel Messi.
