En mars, environ 19.700 ‘‘employés fictifs’‘ ont été découverts dans la masse salariale du secteur public de la Tanzanie lors d’une opération de purge. Le gouvernement tanzanien perd chaque année 107 millions de dollars dans les ‘‘emplois fictifs’‘.
“Ces personnes occupaient des postes gouvernementaux, mais n’avaient pas de qualifications… Ils nous ont volé comme d’autres criminels”, a-t-il ajouté.
Élu en octobre 2015, le président Magufuli a plusieurs fois été à la base de l‘éviction de nombreux officiels du gouvernement pour falsification ou corruption. Le président tanzanien est adulé par plusieurs de ses partisans pour sa lutte incontestée contre la corruption, mais de plus en plus accusé par ses détracteurs de ‘‘dérive autoritaire’‘
