The Cure, le groupe mythique emmené par Robert Smith, sera une des têtes d’affiche du prochain Rock en Seine à Paris, avec un concert en ouverture le 23 août, ont annoncé mercredi les organisateurs du festival.
Les billets pour ce premier concert des Cure à Rock en Seine seront en vente à partir du 7 novembre sur le site internet du festival.

En conviant The Cure, Rock en Seine renoue avec son image de festival tourné vers le rock.
Le groupe, qui a marqué les années 1980 et 1990 avec des tubes comme « Boys Don’t Cry », « Close To Me » ou « Friday I’m In Love », a fêté le 7 juillet ses quarante ans de carrière lors d’un grand concert sur la pelouse d’Hyde Park, à Londres.
Devant 65.000 personnes, ils ont passé en revue leur discographie, après des retrouvailles avec leur public en juin au Melton Festival de Londres.
Le groupe britannique, qui n’a pas sorti d’album depuis 2008 (« 4.3 Dream »), a également déjà annoncé pour 2019 une date à Dublin le 8 juin et sera au festival Exit à Novi Sad, en Serbie, le 4 juillet, avec des billets en vente à partir du 23 octobre.
